I am currently reading "Stolen Time" by Sunny Jacobs. Sunny was wrongy accused of murdering two policemen. She (and her partner Jesse -later executed) were placed on death row, in solitary confinement for much of the time. She talks about one day being served beetroot and the beauty of the colour of the juice. She is so taken with it she uses her hair as a brush to paint a picture.
